Getting around
Parking in Frankenmuth
Good news: parking in Frankenmuth is free. Here's where to look, and how to skip the hunt on busy weekends.
Where to park
- Free public parking is spread across downtown around local businesses, including the lot behind the Visitor Center at 635 S. Main St. The Visitor Center also has public restrooms.
- We found no paid parking in town. The CVB says parking is free across Frankenmuth.
- On festival weekends and December Saturdays, arrive early or use the shuttle.
The free shuttle
The free Frankenmuth shuttle loops about 15 stops, including the Visitor Center, Zehnder Park and Bronner's Christmas Lane, roughly every 20 minutes from noon to 8 p.m. on Fridays to Sundays, from late July through Dec 27 (not Dec 25). Park once and ride.
Buses and big vehicles
Motorcoaches park behind the Visitor Center, behind Zehnder's and behind River Place Shops, and most attractions have bus drop-off areas. RV travelers often stay at Frankenmuth Jellystone Camp Resort on Weiss Street.
EV charging
The CVB lists chargers at the Covered Bridge Shop and at Frankenmuth Jellystone Park.
Leaving your car overnight
Ask your hotel. Street parking rules can differ in winter, so check with the city or the Visitor Center at (989) 652-6106 before leaving a car on the street overnight. If you've been drinking, leave the car parked. Here's how to get home safe.
