Before your first drink
Get home safe
Frankenmuth is a walking town, but most visitors drive in. Decide how you're getting back before the night starts, and never drink and drive.
Your options
Pick a sober driver
The simplest plan. Driving doesn't mean sitting out: the zero-proof route has house root beer, sparkling juice and N/A beer at five stops.
Stay the night
Book a room within walking distance or a short ride from Main Street, leave the car parked and pick it up in the morning.
Rideshare
Uber says rides can be requested in Frankenmuth any time, but pickups can take longer than in a big city. Open the app before you need it, or schedule a pickup ahead of time.
Free STARS bus (daytime, seasonal)
Saginaw's STARS runs a free Frankenmuth Express from downtown Saginaw on Fridays to Sundays from late July through December, plus a free shuttle loop around town. The last ride back leaves around 8 p.m., so it suits daytime visits, not late nights. Check saginaw-stars.com or call 989-907-4000 for this season's schedule.
Ask for a cab
No taxi company is based in town, and cabs come from nearby cities, so call ahead. Your hotel's front desk or the bar staff can usually point you to one that's running that night.
